Want to be part of something GREAT?
ReelAbilities is currently hosted in over a dozen cities throughout the U.S.. Films are submitted from around the world. Over 500 apparently were submitted for this years film line up. I wonder what didn’t make the cut, and why. Don’t you? The. Films can be in ANY language (They, or the film production team, just add subtitles if needed.) Each festival, runs at different points each year.
I already posted here twice about ReelAbilities (So, search the term, to be refreshed on those posts if you need the basics on what it is or how to volunteer, etc..)
However, it began in 2007, in Manhattan, at a NYC, JCC (my fav. JCC, if you ask me- but, let’s stay on track, shall we? ) JCC stands for Jewish Community Center and there are several throughout the USA, and they don’t just allow Jews (In case of that being a ?). Along with the fact that NYC, is well, GREAT! NYC gets the newest film’s first, and possibly the best festival yearly in the country. The film’s are then replayed throughout the other US cities if they were popular enough. Lucky for me, cause I’m within commuting distance!
And like last year, I’m very much looking forward to this years, which will be held March 12- the 18th. They just posted the NYC lineup with the new movie trailers, and summaries! Most events have posted locations, prices, times and dates now up as well. I haven’t yet determined for sure which I’m attending, with whom, where, and the those other details yet. However, I have read all the summaries, and saw some of their trailers.
I thought you all might want to check it all out too. Regardless of if you live even in the Philippines, let alone, anywhere closer. I’m sure if you check it out, and think about it long enough. You’ll see why, I said your actual location makes no difference.
So, hear you go! www.newyork.reelabilities.org/films
PS. Boston’s starts today, and Cincinnaties starts on Feb. 27th.
